What duas can I recite for the deceased?

Allahummaghfir lihayyina wa mayatina wa shahidina wa ghaibina wa saghirina wa kabirina wa dhakarina wa unthana. Allahumma man ahyaytahu minna fa ahyihi alal Islam wa man tawaffaytahu minna fatawaffahu ala iman.

O Allah! Forgive our living, our dead, those of us who are present, and those who are absent, our young, our old, our males and our females. O Allah! Whomsoever among us You keep to live, make him to live in Islam, and whomsoever You cause to die, let him die in faith. [Muslim]

O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him and grant him peace and pardon him. Receive him with honour and make his place of entry (in grave) spacious. Wash him with water, snow, and ice and cleanse him of his faults like a white garment is cleansed of stains. O Allah, substitute for him an abode better than his abode, a family better than his family and a spouse better than his spouse. Admit him into Paradise and protect him from the torment of the grave and the torment of the Fire. Ameen. [Muslim]

Allahumma in kana muhsinan fa zid fi ihsanihi, wa in kana  usi’an fa tajawaz an sayyi’atih. Allahumma la tahrimna ajrahu wa lataftina badahu.

O Allah, he is Your slave and the son of Your male slave and Your female slave. He used to testify that there is no god but You and that Muhammad is Your slave and Your Messenger, and You know that best. O Allah, if he acted well, then increase for him his good action, and if he acted wrongly, then overlook his wrong actions. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward, and do not try us after him. [Mustadrak Al-Hakim]

Allaahummaghfir li (name of the person) warfa’ darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeena, wakhlufhu fee ‘aqibihi fil-ghaabireena , waghfir-lanaa wa lahu yaa Rabbal-‘aalameena, wafsah lahu fee qabrihi wa nawwir lahu feehi

O Allah, forgive [name of the person] and elevate his station among those who are guided. Send him along the path of those who came before, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for him his grave and shed light upon him in it. [Muslim]

Allāhumma’ghfir lah Allāhumma thabbit’h.

O Allah, forgive him.  O Allah, strengthen him. [Abu Dawud]
