Meet Shaykh Haytham Tamim: A lifelong seeker of knowledge and the founder of Utrujj Foundation, Shaykh Haytham Tamim is more than a scholar — he is dedicated to helping ordinary people develop a deep love for the Quran, understand its wisdom, and apply it in their daily lives. His mission is to empower individuals to live with mindfulness and purpose, strengthening their connection with Allah. Through his teachings, he inspires others to uphold strong principles, embody justice and kindness, and make each moment of this fleeting life a means of attaining the best possible outcome in their eternal life.

Founding Utrujj: knowledge that transforms lives
In 2000, Shaykh Haytham established the Utrujj Foundation with a clear mission: to spread Islamic knowledge with clarity, authenticity, and practicality. Utrujj is not about passive learning, but actively applying Islamic principles to real life. Spiritual growth combined with wisdom and common sense enables us to tap into the powerful potential we have - to transcend the mundane and live a life that is filled with hope, success and contentment.

Shaykh Haytham has an unbroken chain of transmission (sanad) that goes back to the Prophet ﷺ. He has learned from some of the most respected scholars of our time, including:

Teaching & leadership: inspiring the next generation
Shaykh Haytham’s delivered his first sermon to a large congregation at just 17. After years of studying in Damascus, he became a senior lecturer in Islamic Transactions and Comparative Jurisprudence at the Islamic University of Beirut.
His established an office for the research and publication of key Islamic manuscripts. He was blessed with the opportunity to do the critical verification (tahqeeq) of over 20 classical books and manuscripts in hadith, fiqh, comparative fiqh and the science of hadith.
Shaykh Haytham also trained as a judge in the Lebanese Shariah courts before moving to the UK.

Beyond teaching, Shaykh Haytham is an authority in Islamic Finance and Shariah advisory, consulting for international firms, investment institutions, and legal professionals.
With two decades of experience advising British lawyers and humanitarian organisations, such as Save the Children and UNICEF, he has helped shape ethical financial solutions in accordance with Islamic principles.
As the Director of Shariah Solutions Limited, he helps businesses develop Shariah-compliant products that serve Muslim consumers in Europe and the Middle East.

As the leader of the Lebanese Sunni community in the UK under Dar Al-Fatwa, Shaykh Haytham is a mentor, a guide, and a voice of reason in today’s fast-changing world.
