Du’a Al-Ta’if

When the Prophet (peace be on him) arrived in Taif, he encountered rejection and animosity and he was humiliated and injured, so he made this dua, asking Allah to support him in his moment of utter weakness.

O Allah to You I complain of my weakness and lack of resources, and my humiliation before mankind. You are the most merciful of those who show mercy. You are the Lord of the weak and You are my Lord. To whom do You entrust me? To someone distant that attacks me! Or to an enemy that You gave him control over my affairs? If you are not angry with me then I do not care, but Your protection is much better and more ample for me. I seek protection in the light of Your face, which illuminates the darkness, and through which all affairs in this life and in the Hereafter become right, may it never be that I should incur Your wrath, or that You should be displeased with me. I will appeal to You till You are pleased with me. There is no power, and there is no way except through You. (Tabarani and Seerah of Ibn Hisham)

Dua Hajah – Dua for Need

None has the right to be worshiped but Allah. Al-Halim (the Forbearing) Al-Karim (the Generous). Glorious is Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. I ask You for that which warrants Your mercy, and that which will determine Your forgiveness, and the spoils (fruits) of every righteous deed, and safety from every sin; do not leave a sin for me without forgiving it, nor a worry without relieving it. Or a need that pleases you without granting it. O Most-Merciful of those who have mercy.

Dua for forgiveness

Do not leave a sin of mine (O Allah), except that you forgive it, nor any concern except that you create for it an opening, nor any need in which there is your good pleasure except that you fulfil it, O Most Merciful!

Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers. (7:23)

Dua for mercy and blessings

Allahumma ibsut ‘alaynâ min barakâtika wa rahmatikawa fadlika wa rizqika.

Allahumma inni asaluka-n-na’îma-l-muqîma-l-adhi lâ yahûlu wa lâ yazûlu.

Allahumma inni asaluka-n-na’îma yawma-l-‘aylati, walamna yawma-l-khawfi.

Allahumma inni ‘âidhun bika min sharri ma a’utaytnâ, wa sharri ma mana’ata. Allahumma habbib ilaynâ-l-îmana wa zayyinhu fi qulûbia, wa karrihu ilaynâ-l-kufra wa-l-fusuqa wa-l-‘isyana, wa ij’alnâ min-arrâshidin.

Allahumma tawaffana muslimîna, wa ahyinâ muslimîna, wa alhiqnâ bi-s-sâlihîna ghayra khazâyâ wa lâ maftûnîn.

O Allah spread amongst us from Your blessings, Your mercy, Your grace and Your rizq. O Allah I ask You for the everlasting bliss that never vanishes or disappears. O Allah, I ask You to complete Your bliss on me when I need it the most, in poverty, and I ask You for safety on the day of fear. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You have given us, and the evil of what You have protected us from. O Allah, make imaan beloved to us and beautify it in our hearts, and make disbelief, mischief, and rebellion hateful to us, and make us among the rightly guided. O Allah, make us die as Muslims and keep us alive as Muslims, and make us among the righteous, neither let us be disgraced nor afflicted.

Dua for firmness of heart

Ya Muqallibal-qulub, thabbit qalbi `ala dinik

O Changer of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.

Dua for Allah to be pleased with us

O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, keep me alive so long as You know such life to be good for me and take me if You know death to be better for me. O Allah, make me fearful of You whether in secret or in public and I ask You to make me true in speech, in times of pleasure and anger. I ask you to make me moderate in times of wealth and poverty and I ask You for everlasting bliss and joy which will never cease. I ask You to make me pleased with what You have decreed and for an easy life after death. I ask You for the sweetness of looking upon Your Face and a longing to encounter You in a manner which does not entail a calamity which will bring about harm nor a trial which will cause deviation. O Allah, beautify us with the adornment of faith and make us (and our children) of those who guide and are rightly guided.

Dua for guidance

Ya Allah, I ask You of Your mercy, that You guide by it my heart, and gather by it my affair, and bring together that which has been scattered of my affairs, and correct with it that which is hidden from me, and raise by it that which is apparent from me, and purify by it my actions, and inspire me by it with that which contains my guidance, and protect me by it from that which I seek protection, and protect me by it from every evil.

Ya Allah, We ask you for your mercy, that you guide our hearts, gather our affairs for us, unite us and our hearts, and our ummah, give us strength from you, bring us back to you and your mercy. O lord of the throne. We ask fo success in dunya and akhirah and victory against our enemies

Shaykh Haytham’s dua for Palestine

Ya Allah, give strength to our brothers and sisters in Palestine to defend the truth. Protect them, help them and send your angels to be with them as you sent your angels to be with the companions when they were defending the truth. Send the angels to support them, O Most Merciful!

Ya Allah, enable us to change ourselves and have control over ourselves and defeat our lower selves and our enemies.

Ya Allah, give the people of Palestine the ability to defend their rights and their blessed land.

Ya Allah, support us, support them and be with them.

Ya Allah, we are weak and we have no power without your power.  You are powerful and we are weak. Strengthen us and cure our weaknesses. Accept our deceased as shuhada and give relief to those who are wounded in your cause. Give relief to those who are suffering.

Ya Allah, be with the widows and those who lost their parents and whose houses were destroyed.

Ya Allah, elevate their ranks and remove their pain and suffering, the emotional the physical and the mental, and increase their reward. Give them the power to stand on their feet again.

Ya Allah, help us to always be with the right people and on the right side, and to support the truth and justice.

Ya Allah, you have promised to respond to the call of those who call on you. As you have commanded us. You said, ‘Call on me and I will respond to you’. We have responded to Your command and we have responded to You. Accept it from us as, and grant what you have promised.

Ya Allah, we raise our hands towards You and ask You to be with our brothers and sisters and all those who are suffering. Give them victory, cure them, and put tranquility and patience in their hearts. Give them peace, increase their provision.

Ya Allah, place light in our hearts and in the hearts of our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Strengthen our ranks.

Supplication of Imam Al-Ghazali

Oh Allah, of Grace I ask You its perfection; and of protection its duration; and of mercy its completion; and of health its attainment. Of livelihood, I ask its comfort and of life its happiness; and of virtue its completion; and of blessings its totality; and of graciousness its sweetness; and of benevolence the nearest. Oh Allah, terminate with happiness our final end and fulfil for us our hopes beyond expectations. Join with well-being and good health our early mornings and dusky evenings and set Your mercy as our final end and outcome. Pour the abundance of Your Forgiveness upon our sins , and favour us with the removal of our faults. Give us piety as a provision and place our efforts in the strengthening of Your Religion. In You is our trust and upon You our dependence. Oh Allah, strengthen us on the road of sincerity and righteousness and protect us in this world from that which will be cause for regret on the Final Day. Lighten for us the burden of our sins and bestow upon us the blessings of those who live a life of Righteousness and be sufficient for us and avert from us the evils of those who do evil. Free us and free our fathers and our mothers and our spouse and our teachers from the fire of hell by the grace of Your Mercy.

Oh most Mighty, most Merciful , most Generous; the One who Veils (of faults), the most Gentle, the Potent.

Oh Allah, the First of the First and the Last of the Last. The Possessor of unshakable Power. The most Compassionate to the poor and the destitute. O Most Merciful of the Merciful. There is no God except You. Glory be to You. ‘Indeed I am amongst those who have done wrong’. (21:87)

Dua to remove hatred

O Lord, help me and do not help anyone against me, support me and do not support anyone against me, plan for me and do not plan against me. Guide me and make guidance easy for me. Support me against those who transgress against me. O Lord, make me grateful to You, remembering of You, fearful of You, obedient to You, humble to You, penitent and repenting. O Lord, accept my repentance, wash away my sin, answer my supplication, establish my proof, direct my tongue, guide my heart, and remove the rancour from my chest.” (Tirmidhi)

Dua for determination

O Allah, I ask you to grant me stability in my affairs and the determination to attain guidance, and I ask You to enable me to be grateful for Your favours, and to worship You in the best manner, and I ask You for a sound heart, and a truthful tongue, and I ask of You the best of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil that You know of, and I ask Your forgiveness for what is within Your knowledge and You are the All Knowing of the Unseen. (Ibn Hibban)

Dua for light

O Allah, place light in my heart, and on my tongue light, and in my ears light and in my sight light, and above me light, and below me light, and to my right light, and to my left light, and before me light and behind me light.

Place in my soul light. Place light in my soul, and amplify for me light. (Muslim)

Dua for protection

Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wal-bukhli wal-haram, wa ‘adhabil-qabri.

O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the inability (to do good), indolence, cowardice, miserliness, decrepitude and torment of the grave. O Allah! Grant me the sense of piety and purify my soul as You are the Best to purify it. You are its Guardian and its Protecting Friend. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the knowledge which is not beneficial, and from a heart which does not fear (You), and from desire which is not satisfied, and from prayer which is not answered. (Muslim)

Dua for protection from loss of favours

Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min zawali ni’matika, wa tahawwuli ‘afiyatika, wa fuja’ati niqmatika, wa jami’i sakhatika

O Allah! I seek refuge in You against the declining of Your Favours, passing of safety, the suddenness of Your punishment and all that which displeases You). (Muslim)

Why Palestine is special

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet (peace be on him) said:

“You should not undertake a special journey to visit any place other than the following three Masjids with the expectations of getting greater reward: the Sacred Masjid of Makkah (Ka’bah), this Masjid of mine (the Prophet’s Masjid in Madinah), and Masjid Al-Aqsa (of Jerusalem)”. (Muslim, Bukhari, Abu Dawud)

Reward for praying in Masjid Al Aqsa

Allah Almighty made these places extra special. All mosques are special but these are extra special. There is extra reward for praying in these mosques. Praying in the haram has 100,000 reward for prayer, in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah 1000, the most authentic narrations for Masjid Al Aqsa is 250, though the most famous narration is 500.

First Qibla

It was our first qibla. The Prophet (peace be on him) prayed in that direction for 16-17 months before Allah changed the Qibla to Masjid al Haram in Makkah. Surat Al Isra, Allah mentions the masjid, it is the land of al Isra and miraj. The Prophet (peace be on him) travelled there in the night and then began his ascent to heaven from there, not Makkah.

Books on Palestine

There are plenty of books on the virtues of Bait al Maqdis. One of the eminent Hanbali scholars in hadith and fiqh, Diyaa’ al-Deen Al-Maqdisi (died 643H) wrote Fadail Bait al Maqdis (The Virtues of Jersualem)

Also Ibn al Jawzi and Ibn Athkir wrote about this. It is embedded in the Quran, sunnah and it is our right to defend it and protect it and do our best to liberate it. As Salahuddin and Omar (may Allah be pleased with them) before us. Inshallah we can liberate it from any control and oppression sooner rather than later.

Victory will ultimately be ours

Umamah Al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with them) reports that the Prophet (peace be on him) said:

“A group of my Ummah will remain on truth, they will vanquish their enemy and those who disagree with them will not be able to harm them until Allah commands”. “Where are these people”? The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked. The Prophet (peace be on him) said, “In and around Al-Quds (Jerusalem). [Ahmad]

No matter how many people let them down, or disagree with them, they will be victorious. The Prophet (peace be on him) promised us this and his promise is true. We do not know how long it will take and inshallah this is the beginning of the victory and for us to reclaim our land.

We ask Allah to give us deep understanding of our deen, and our history.

Some people are confused and mislead about the Muslims rights in Bait al Maqdis (Jerusalem) and say it is not mentioned in the Quran, then why can we claim it is our land.

We need to teach our children and our communities that Palestine belongs to us and Israel cannot make it their land even when they terrorise us and steal it, it does not give them the right to take it. Allah will facilitate the means to do so.

At the moment we ask Allah to bring peace to the land and the people and to help us to be among the people of justice and fairness and the truth. Please support them through your donations and duas.

We ask Allah to make us from the people of justice, to remove the pain and this test. Ameen
