How do you perform wudu with a cast or bandage?
Performing wudu with a bandage or cast
If you have an injury on a body part that must normally be washed in wudu, then the ruling depends on what will cause harm.
Washing, wiping with wet hands or tayammum over the body part
The first option is washing the area if the cast or bandage can be removed and it does not cause harm or delay healing,.
If washing it will cause harm, but wiping over it with wet hands will not, then it should be wiped instead of washed. If both washing and wiping would cause harm, then the person should wash the parts of the body that he is able to wash and perform tayammum for the part that he cannot wash or wipe.
Wiping over the bandage/ cast
If the injured area is covered with a bandage, plaster, dressing, or medicine that prevents the water from reaching it, and that covering is needed, then it is sufficient to wipe over the covering. In this case, wiping over the dressing takes the place of washing the injured area, and tayammum is not required.
