Can you combine Jumuah with Asr when travelling?

Combining salah in the Hanafi School

According to the Hanafi school, combining between prayers is not permitted.

Maliki, Shafi’i and Hanbali opinion on combining Jumu’ah with Asr Salah

In the Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali it is allowed to join Dhuhr with Asr, and Maghrib with Isha when travelling or under specific circumstances. By extension, Jumu’ah follows the same ruling as Dhuhr.

Therefore, if you are travelling, it is permissible in the Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali madhahib to join Asr with Jumu’ah if Jumu’ah is prayed at Jumu’ah time, and Asr is prayed early. Jumu’ah cannot be delayed until the time of Asr, as it will count as Dhuhr and not Jumu’ah.

Travellers

Jumu’ah is not obligatory upon the traveller, so they may pray Dhuhr and combine with Asr if it is not possible for them to attend Jumu’ah. This would also be valid.

Allah knows best.
