As Muslims living in the West we frequently find ourselves at the crossroads, not knowing which way to turn. Many of our dilemmas, on an individual and community level, arise due to a lack of understanding and knowledge regarding contemporary issues such as homosexuality, medical ethics, celebrating non-Muslim festivals and so on. If we look to the Prophetic Sunnah, we can see the great achievements of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) not only transformed the lives of the elite and ordinary amongst his community but then extended this to the whole of Arabia and then to the world. Why? Simply, the Prophet (peace be upon him) understood the reality of his time and place. This course will equip students with the essential knowledge and practical tools to deal with the reality and common contemporary issues we face on a daily basis.
