Shaykh Suhaib Hasan Abdul Ghaffar

Shaykh Suhaib Hasan Abdul Ghaffar, born in India but brought up and educated in Pakistan. After completing Islamic and Arabic studies (Fadil Arabic, 1960) and English language studies (B.A. 1962), he joined the newly-set-up Islamic University at Madinah, Saudi Arabia for higher studies in the faculty of Sharia. Here he studied under a galaxy of prominent scholars such as Shaykh Abdul Aziz bin Baz, Muhammad Amin al-Shanqiti, Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani and later his father Shaykh Abdul Ghaffar Hasan. After graduating in 1966, he began his career as a teacher and worker in Islamic Dawa at Nairobi, Kenya on behalf of Darul Ifta. In 1976, he moved to London where he engaged in Islamic Dawah especially through the forum of Al-Quran Society. Currently he is the chairman of Masjid & Madrasah al-Tawhid Trust and Secretary of the Islamic Sharia Council of Great Britain.He helped found Al-Tawhid Mosque, Al-Quran Society and the Islamic Sharia Council in London, all of which he currently heads. He has also served as the Chairman of Muslim Aid for two years. Shaikh Suhaib completed his PhD in Islamic Studies from the University of Birmingham in the 1990s and has published a number of works and translations in English, Urdu and Arabic.

Dr Mobayed, was born in Damascus, Syria, (Irish nationality), and graduated from the Medical School of Damascus University in 1978. He is married with three sons, worked as a psychiatric specialist in Dublin, Ireland, from 1981 to 1990. Since 1990, he has worked as a Psychiatrist with Belfast Health Trust, Northern Ireland. He is an honorary lecturer at Queens University, Belfast. Dr mobayed is an active member of the community and has been involved in many areas which include:President of Northern Ireland Muslim Family Association (NIMFA) since its foundation (2002) Member of the European Muslim Forum (2007), Former president of Belfast Islamic Centre 1992-2000, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Inter-Faith Forum, Member of the Muslim Council of Britain, CWC since its establishment He lectures frequently in Europe, USA and Middle East on family issues (parenting, adolescents, and marital communications.) He is a member of several Medical and psychiatric organizations.Dr Mobayed has published a number of research papers on psychiatry, and several papers in Arabic on different cultural issues. Shaykh Abu 'Aaliyah has been involved in da'wah and community work over the last 20 years. He has delivered lectures, circles and seminars in various universities, mosques and Islamic centres across the UK and abroad. He has studied under a number scholars, notably Shaykh 'Abdullah al-Farisi and Shaykh 'Abdurrahman al-Luwayhiq. He is currently furthering his studies in Hanbali Fiqh and has translated a number of books from Arabic into English, including Tenets of Faith, The Ideological Attack, Etiquettes of Differing, The Exquisite Pearl, Fadl 'Ilm al-Salaf (Virtue of Knowledge of thePredecessors)of Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali and Bidayat al-Sul fi Tafdil ar-Rasul (Virtues and Status of the Prophet [pbuh]) of al-'Izz ibn 'Abd as-Salam. Amongst his regular local community activities he has been the guest of a number shows on Islamic radio stations during Ramadan and is also Director of the Jawziyyah Institute based in London. Dr Faisal Hameed

Faissal Hameed is currently a Lecturer of Islamic History and Civilization at the Muslim College in London and also of Islamic and Middle Eastern History at Birkbeck College, University of London. His academic accomplishments include a BA (Hons) in History and Politics of Modern Middle East and an MA in African and Asian History both from University of London. He also holds a PhD in History and Politics of South Asia from University of Birmingham where he was also formerly a teaching fellow at the Department of Theology.

Shaykh Haytham Tamim

Shaykh Haytham Tamim is the senior lecturer and scholar and has studied Islamic law for over 20 years. His academic background includes accreditation in interpretation and sciences of the Qur’an, Prophetic sayings (hadith) and jurisprudence (fiqh) from scholars of As-Sham. As well as verifying over 20 books, his specialties include comparative jurisprudence, principles of jurisprudence (usool ul fiqh) and hadith. He served as a lecturer of comparative jurisprudence for many years at the Islamic University of Beirut. He has also served as lecturer of hadith and the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) (seerah) at the Azhar Lubnan Academy, Lebanon. He provides counselling and independent consultancy services for Muslim and non-Muslim organisations both in person and via the internet. He has appeared on both Islam Channel and Shari’ah TV channel. He has been a guest speaker on Islamic radio stations throughout the UK responding to questions on Islamic law and living Islam in the modern context.
