Welcome to the Summer Beehive
What is the Beehive?
The Utrujj Beehive offers a dedicated opportunity to enrol on a number of specialised courses delivered in an interactive learning style and provide an opportunity for our students to taste this sweetness.
The name is inspired by the beautiful verses of the Qur’an:
"And Your Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations; Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought." [Chapter An-Nahl (The Bee)] [16: 68,69]
The Bees work together intensely in the Beehive and all have a role to play to produce the healing; known as honey. The Summer Beehive provides an intense set of courses which provide the student the healing for the heart and soul. When a bee-keeper sees a swarm of bees, he brings a hive in which he lays sweet and perfumed things. When the bees sense the perfume they enter the hive. If the abode is well prepared then they will appreciate it and settle in. Otherwise they will only stay a day or two and then leave for good.
The same phenomenon applies to the Summer Beehive courses; through learning and seeking knowledge, one can improve their understanding, once we improve the condition of our hearts; the heart is clean and perfumed and this sweetness will InshAllah settle in permanently.
What will I find in the Beehive?
Beehive 2008 will host 5 weeks of both week-day and one-day courses in London and Leeds. The courses will be developed and taught by recognised scholars based on their expertise and from respected institutions. Students can expect to be delivered both a comprehensive and a specific learning experience that will have a powerful impact on their lives. Specialist subjects include; Effective Family Communication with a psychologist offering workshops and guidance; Islamic History; a specialist scholar introducing The Journey of the Soul and many more courses aiming to meet the many needs of our students. Courses are interactive, thought provoking and usually have workshops for practical application of the theory being taught.
